Please visit our gallery – click here for a visual tour! Starline Factory’s “4th Friday” pop-up art event is a happening, ongoing event that occurs on the 4th Friday, January-August; October. While you’re there, please visit our studio on the second floor–three talented ladies and one guest artist offer a plethora of unique, artistic items to choose from. Located in an historic building that runs parallel with the Metra train, 4th Friday attracts between 600-1000 guests. Since Starline Factory is a huge venue, there’s room for all! For only a small admittance fee ($5; $10-October), you can purchase artwork, clothing, furniture, etc., vote on your favorites in the art contest, stroll the many artists’ studio throughout the building, listen to live music from multiple artists, nibble on appetizers, purchase something from the cash bar and experience the unique ambiance.

“4th Fridays” supports regional artists with a genuine commitment to excellence and the idea that art events can also be fresh+fun. They carry through on their promise of fresh at each event with new artwork, new+returning artists, new featured artists, rotating+new musicians and new event design themes+installations dreamed up by their clever+creative core team. Pictures at an Exhibition
Music director Steven Larsen stated, “One of the best-loved staples of the orchestral repertoire, Pictures was inspired by visual images. With the help of some of the best photographers in our area, we’ve turned the creative process around and assembled a brilliant presentation of regional photos, both inspired by the music and creating an unforgettable visual tribute to Rockford.”

The 35-minute-long segment of the performance showcased hundreds of photographs created in the Rockford area by eight local photographers was to music that streamed over the orchestra on stage. The artwork imitated the music. It went from playful and festive to dark and brooding. Click here to read the Rockford Register Star’s coverage.
